3D Compressor Performance Model

When mapping boost pressure versus air flow rate versus efficiency, a 3-Dimensional surface is produced. The traditional method of representing the compressor flow performance is a 2 dimensional representation that can be confusing to read particularly when attempting to compare one turbocharger to another. When selecting the right turbocharger for the job, one must be able to effectively compare the characteristics in 3-Dimensional space.

The following link will load a 3D model of the compressor envelopes and will allow the viewer to select any combination of turbochargers. You will also have control of the viewing point in 3D space and zoom into areas of particular interest.
