| 1. |
Remove the stock fuel pump assembly in accordance with the factory service manual. |
| Fuel Pumps |
| 2. |
Remove the low fuel level sensor from the fuel pump housing.
Unsolder the two wires from the low fuel level sensor.

| 3. |
Carefully unplug the two wires from the stock fuel level sender unit.
Gently unclip the stock fuel level sender unit from the main fuel pump housing as shown.
Remove the fuel level sender unit.

| 4. |
Carefully remove the stock O-ring from the fuel pump assembly.
Retain the O-ring - do not discard.
|
 |
| 5. |
Apply thread sealant to fuel hose connection fittings:
and install into new surge tank/fuel pump assembly (Item 245).
Note orientation of fittings.
Apply sealant to wiring plug (Item 245J) mounting screw threads (Item 245O) and install wiring plug (Item 245J) into new surge tank/fuel pump assembly (Item 245).

| 6. |
Install the fuel pumps with rubber insulation sleeves and filter socks. NOTE The fuel pumps may have been pre-installed at the APS factory.
Solder stock low fuel level sensor that was removed previously onto blue and black wires as shown.

| 7. |
Install fuel hoses (Item 245G) as shown and retain with hose clamps (Item 245K).
Insert stock low fuel level sensor into housing on surge tank/fuel; pump assembly (Item 245) as shown.

| 8. |
Install fuel pump assembly into anti-surge tank.
Install stock fuel level sender unit onto mounting holes on anti-surge tank. Retain using two 4x12mm bolts (Item 245Q) and 4mm washers (Item 245P).

| 9. |
Apply rubber lubricant to stock O-ring that was removed previously and install onto surge-tank/fuel pump assembly as shown. |
 |
| 10. |
Partially lower the surge-tank/fuel pump assembly into the stock fuel tank and connect the fuel balance hose. Retain with circlip (Item 245L). |
 |
| 11. |
Lower the surge-tank/fuel pump assembly into the stock fuel tank and retain using 5x10mm hex head bolts (Item 244).
Note: A new stock fuel tank O-ring should be installed at the same time.
Note: Ignore fuel hoses shown at this stage. Hose will be installed at a later stage.

| Fuel Rails and Fuel Injectors |
| 12. |
Remove the stock intake plenum, fuel rails, injectors and injector wiring in accordance with the factory service manual. |
| 13. |
Orientate the two APS fuel rails (Item 210) to simulate the positions when installed on the engine.
Install a short straight adaptor (Item 215) to the front end of the RHS fuel rail.
Install a long straight adaptor (Item 216) to the rear end of the RHS fuel rail.
Install a short straight adaptor (Item 215) to each end of the LHS fuel rail.

| 14. |
Install fuel rail mounting brackets (Item 211) onto fuel rails (Item 210) and retain using 4mm x 20mm bolts (Item 214).
Carefully install fuel injectors (Item 212) into fuel rails (Item 210).

| 15. |
Loosely Install new fuel rail assemblies onto stock intake manifold using stock intake manifold nuts. Do not tighten yet.
Install fuel injector plugs (Item 213) into new fuel injectors (Item 212).
Tighten stock intake manifold nuts used to retain new fuel rail assemblies.

 |
| Fuel Hoses |
| 16. |
In accordance with the Factory Service Manual, remove the stock rear metal cross brace and stock plastic angle from the stock fuel line located in front of the stock fuel tank. |
 |
| 17. |
Ensure that approximately one yard of spiral protective plastic wrap is installed at the rear end of both stainless steel braided fuel hoses (Item 224).
Route fuel hoses upwards around the outer face of the stock fuel tank (requires two people) all the way to the fuel pump assembly installed in the stock fuel tank.
Note: Do not secure the hoses with the hose support clamps yet.

| 18. |
Install the two fuel supply hoses (Item 224) to the new fuel pump assembly previously installed into the stock fuel tank. Note the orientation of the hoses and fittings.
Remove the stock plastic fuel supply hose from the stock metal fuel line (the stock metal fuel line is now used as the new fuel return line). Install the new fuel return hose (Item 228) to the stock metal fuel line using two fuel injection hose clamps (Item 237).
Install the new fuel return hose (Item 228) to the fuel pump assembly as shown.

| 19. |
Install 620mm long spiral plastic protective hose wrap (Item 227) to fuel hose (Item 224) where the hose is in contact with the stock fuel line.
Drill a 5/32" diameter hole as shown for the self tapping screw (Item 221).
Secure the fuel supply hoses (Item 224) to the fuel tank and chassis as shown using hose support clamps (Item 238).
Retain hose support clamps (Item 238) to vehicle using self tapping screw (Item 221) on one clamp as shown and nut (Item 240), bolt (Item 239) and washer (Item 244).

| 20. |
Route the fuel supply hoses (Item 224) along a path that follows the stock fuel line.
Secure the fuel supply hoses using nylon tie-straps (Item 242).
Ensure that the fuel supply hoses are secure and cannot not rub against the stock fuel lines.

| 21. |
Install spiral plastic protective hose wrap (Items 225 and 226) to fuel supply hoses (Item 224) in the area where the hoses pass through the front subframe area. |
 |
| 22. |
Route the fuel supply hoses (Item 224) up and around the rear of the engine bay. |
 |
| 23. |
Remove the stock bracket that secures the stock fuel injection wiring plug.
Route the fuel supply hoses (Item 224) beneath the stock intake manifold as shown.

 |
| 24. |
Install the fuel supply hoses (Item 224) to the front of the new fuel rail assemblies. |
 |
| Fuel Pressure Regulators |
| 25. |
Install the 9/16" JIC swivel adaptors (Item 217) and the 9/16" JIC straight adaptors (Item 223) to the fuel pressure regulator housings (Item 218) as shown.
Caution: tapered threads will tighten automatically as they are screwed in.
Install the 90deg 1/4" BSPx3/8 barb adaptor to the underside of the LHS fuel pressure regulator housing (Item 218) and the 3/8" barb run x 1/4" BSP Tee (Item 231) to the underside of the RHS fuel pressure regulator housing (Item 218).
Apply rubber lubricant to each fuel pressure regulator (Item 219) rubber O-ring and insert into the fuel pressure regulator housing assemblies. Retain using circlips (Item 220).

| 26. |
Cut fuel hose (Item 234) to 4" length and install across both barbed fittings (Items 230 & 231) on the fuel pressure regulator assemblies as shown. Retain using hose clamps (Item 232).
Connect the remaining fuel hose (approximately 12" in length) to the barbed tee-piece (Item 231) as shown. Retain using hose clamp (Item 232).

| 27. |
Install the fuel pressure regulator assemblies to the rear of the fuel rails.
Install the fuel pressure balance hose (Item 222) to the adaptors (Item 223) previously installed in the rear of the fuel pressure regulators.
Cut 4mm vacuum hose (Item 229) as required and install the 3mm steel Tee Piece (Item 233) to join the fuel pressure regulator boost pressure/vacuum sensing hoses together as shown.
Route the remaining vacuum hose to the front RHS of the intake plenum.

| 28. |
Warm the end of the stock fuel supply hose (now configured as the fuel return hose) and carefully insert the 3/8" x 1/4" joiner (Item 235) into the stock hose. Retain using hose clamp (Item 236).
Insert the fuel return hose (Item 234) from the fuel pressure regulators into the other end of the 3/8" x 1/4" joiner. Retain using hose clamp (Item 232).

| 29. |
Connect the 4mm boost pressure/vacuum sensing hose (Item 229) (from the fuel pressure regulators) to the two tee pieces (Item 233) as shown near the front RHS of the intake plenum.
Connect other boost pressure sensing hoses such as those to boost controllers and blow off valves as required.

| Wiring |
| 30. |
Connect the Red wire from the APS wiring loom (Item 243) to the positive battery terminal.
Connect the Black wire from the APS wiring loom (Item 243) to the stock body earthing point on the inner fender.
Install the wiring loom fuse from the APS wiring loom (Item 243) to the battery mounting clamp as shown.
Feed the remaining long wire loom through the grommet located at the rear of the firewall.

| 31. |
Route the wiring loom from the firewall grommet down inside the inside kick panel.
Route loom along the inside of the footwell.
Continue through the rear bulkhead to exit near the fuel pump assembly previously installed in the fuel tank.

| 32. |
Plug the wiring connector (Item 243) into the special socket located on the top of the fuel pump assembly. |
 |
| 33. |
Make a note of the stock wiring order to the stock fuel pump wiring loom connector and cut the stock fuel pump wiring loom to remove the stock connector. |
 |
| 34. |
Match the stock terminal numbers from the previous step to the labeled wires on the APS wiring loom.
Solder and insulate each pair of matching wires (by number) to join the stock fuel pump wiring loom to the APS wiring loom.

| 35. |
Insert the APS wiring loom previously routed from the engine bay through the rubber grommet on the fuel tank inspection cover plate.
Connect the white fuel pump loom plug to the corresponding white socket on the loom previously routed from the engine bay.
Connect the red power wire from the loom previously routed from the engine bay to the spare terminal on the relay attached to the fuel pump connector wiring loom installed previously.

| 36. |
Mount relay to fuel pump assembly.
Switch the ignition on and off several times to pressurize the fuel system.
Check all fuel connections closely for any signs of fuel leakage.
When satisfied that there are no fuel leaks, refit the stock fuel tank inspection plate cover.

Refit the intake plenum and any other components that were affected by this installation. |
